Mark Boellaard, Celeste Najt & Twitter

I'd like to invite you to check out the new blog of Mark Boellaard from Amsterdam, called Collage Adventures. He explores some new techniques, but there are still some surrealist overtones in his current work.

Also, I was pointed in the direction of the new website of Celeste Najt, from Argentina*. She's a new find, but I love her work and I'd like to talk with her about it soon, then share it here with you!

Care to share any links in the comments to collage websites you've been visiting?

I've also created a twitter account for Notpaper, where I will post links of things I find as well as new posts, and you can share things with me!

Treats & Treasures

Marieke's blog (Treats and Treasures) has been inspiring me lately, so I thought I would share some imagery.

This is the journal - playground - laboratory of Marieke Berghuis (1979). I live in Amsterdam, where I fill most all of my days drawing and designing - if I am not attending classes in art school that is. On this website you will find daily pages of my (paper) journal, with sketches, notes and scraps, and once in a while a picture of something finished.

Art Design 3(6)5 - Notpaper

Art Design 3(6)5

I have received so many lovely emails from readers and collagists lately, and let me tell you how wonderful that is! This is how I heard about the blog Art Design 3(6)5, which was created by a designer named Somsara Reilly to commemorate her 35th birthday and to document her year. There have been so many blog a day blogs popping up in the last few years, but each one of them has a uniqueness to them. I love just seeing the progress of a year's steady work! Somsara is over 100 days in, so make sure you steal a look at her blog before her year is over!

collage-a-day - Notpaper

collage-a-day

It seems like collage-a-day blogs keep popping up!

I think this is a great exercise for artists to make art consistently, and collage allows for these daily exercises because of its randomness and speed. Many of the pieces are made small, which helps to keep time to a minimum with this daily routine. I want to say "I wish I had the time to do something like that," but I know that if I really set myself to it, I could make the time. That's why I admire these artists who are taking the time to make beautiful collages every day.

1. Deborah Fisher—Daily Collage
2. Michelle Caplan—Collage Lab
3. Randel Plowman—A Collage A Day
4. Anna Hannan—Collage 365
5. Dilar Pereira—Daily Collage Project

Please leave a comment if you know of any more collage-a-day sites or if you have one of your own!
