Well, I'm working on a new site design, as you know, and I need some input. This is the first draft of the idea, and I'm having difficulty finding room for things, I may exclude those things entirely. I would just like to know what you think about idea #1. I might do one or two designs more and have a little poll, but for now, what do you think? Too blue? Too scattered? Be cruel.

oh wow..it looks wonderful. I really like the faded radio clock in the background! and blue is always a good a idea.

I really like the blue color a lot. I like the layout, it's not too cluttered, and not too simple. It's a really good mix of design. The only thing I would say is the search bar in the top is a bit distracting and maybe move it to the right above the right side nav? Just a thought, I really love it though!

I love the look of it, the only thing I might rethink are the links on the left side of the page? With shorter windows there would be scrolling involved to see them, which is okay if they're not as important? The boxes that the links are inside are adorable!
Also, I've never used an archive search before on any page... seems like someone that wanted to do that would take time to look for it and it might not need such prime real-estate up at the top. :)

this looks great! i really like the blue. i also like the peachy/tan color at the top left of the page.
question: there's a numbered group of people on the bottom left of the page, will that be a link to something? i'd be tempted to click on the little numbers and see what they lead to. it might be fun to think about that.

I could probably start the ads on the left side below the tan bit, and keep the column setup the same as it is now, with the menu on the right, (Thanks Amanda)
And I wonder what I would like them to (Shelley)? Maybe previous entries or links to other sites? Good idea though!

Good work Aprile. That looks good.
As I'm working (…) on a 12" iBook i'd suggest some changes:
- Leave out the "a blog about collage"-stamp
- move the "recent post" and "links" boxes to the right, under the menu
- now there's more room on the left – the contentbox could float in this direction
-archive search would fit under the menu
- menu/link boxes should be smaller – i don't want to scroll down soooo much. :D Why not style them like the "recent posts" box…?
to sum up:
Left: content:
Right: Menu, recent posts, links, archive search (structure, yeah!) ;)
Just my two cents :)
